ShippApp · Version 8 · Effective October 10, 2026
Shipper Agreement
In plain English
- Business freight only: boxes, pallets and full loads for your business. No hazardous materials, household moves or personal belongings.
- Describe it right: wrong counts, weights, sizes or addresses can add charges you agree to pay.
- Price: you pay the price shown when you book, plus extra charges you approve (and charges caused by wrong information).
- Carriers stay on ShippApp: book carriers and drivers you meet through ShippApp only through ShippApp, for as long as you use it and 24 months after. No buy-out; at least $5,000 per carrier if you don't.
- Damage: the carrier is responsible for freight in its care. Report problems in the app right away with photos; the legal deadline to file a written claim is 9 months after delivery.
- Cargo insurance is included — nothing to buy. Tell us what each shipment is worth; it only goes to a carrier whose cargo insurance covers that value, and a claim is paid up to the value you declared. If you don't state a value, coverage is limited to $100 for the shipment (like UPS and LTL carriers).
- Expedited (optional): a truck just for your load, driven straight to your delivery, with pickup as soon as about 2 hours after booking (not a promised time), for the surcharge shown when you book. Arrival is an estimate — it includes the driver's legally required rest on long trips and can change with traffic and weather. The surcharge isn't refunded.
This summary is for convenience; the full text below is what applies.
When you sign, you confirm each of these separately
- I will book only business freight — boxes, pallets and full loads — with no hazardous materials or household moves, and I'll describe it accurately.
- I will not book carriers or drivers I meet through ShippApp directly, outside ShippApp, while I use it or for 24 months after; there is no buy-out.
- I understand the carrier, not ShippApp, is responsible for loss or damage to my freight, and that I should report problems in the app right away with photos.
- I understand a claim is paid up to the value I declare for a shipment, and only up to $100 if I don't declare one.
1. This agreement
This Shipper Agreement is between ShippApp LLC ("ShippApp") and the business booking loads ("Shipper", "you"). It adds to the ShippApp Terms of Service and Privacy Policy, which also apply.
2. Business shipping only
ShippApp is for business freight. By booking you confirm you are shipping for a business purpose, not personal or household use. Household goods and moves (personal belongings going to or from a home) are not allowed.
3. Booking
- Describe every shipment accurately: pickup and delivery addresses and contacts, ready and delivery times, and the number, type, size and weight of pallets and boxes, plus any special needs (lift gate, appointment, inside delivery).
- Only ordinary boxes, palletized freight and full loads may be booked. Not allowed: hazardous materials, weapons, illegal goods, live animals, cash or valuables, and freight that needs temperature control or special permits.
- Freight must be packed, labeled, wrapped and ready at the time you gave. You load and unload unless the booking says otherwise.
- You may edit a booking until a carrier accepts it. If you change addresses, freight or extras, the new price is shown before you save, and the load is off the load board while you edit. After acceptance, changes need the carrier's agreement through the Platform.
- Tell us the value. If any single shipment is worth more than $100,000, tell ShippApp before booking so a carrier with enough cargo insurance can be used.
Shipment value and cargo insurance
- Tell us the value. When you book, you can state what the shipment is worth (what it would cost you to replace). Be accurate.
- No value stated. If you leave the value blank, coverage for loss or damage is limited to $100 for the whole shipment — the same way UPS and LTL carriers limit coverage when no value is declared — and any vehicle that fits it, including a small boxes-only vehicle, may carry it.
- Cargo insurance is included. Carriers on ShippApp are required to carry cargo insurance, and your shipment is covered by it up to the value you declared, at no extra cost to you. ShippApp only sends your shipment to a carrier whose cargo insurance covers that value, and loss or damage is handled as described in Section 6.
- Small vehicles. A small boxes-only vehicle (an SUV or a pickup with a bed cover) without its own cargo insurance only carries shipments worth up to the amount ShippApp covers (currently $100). ShippApp pays approved claims on those shipments up to that amount and may recover them from the carrier.
- Your declared value is the limit. Recovery for loss or damage is limited to the value you declared (or $100 if you didn't declare one), so don't understate it.
- Example: you ship 10 boxes worth $800 and declare $800. Only carriers with at least $800 of cargo insurance can take it, and a claim is paid up to $800.
Loose boxes on small vehicles
If you say a pallet can be broken down into loose boxes, a small vehicle (an SUV or a pickup with a bed cover) may be sent. You'll be told when it is. You then break the pallet down and hand the loose boxes to the driver, who loads them. The number of boxes and the size and weight of the biggest box you gave must be accurate; extra charges for wrong information (Section 4) apply.
4. Price and payment
- The price shown when you book is the price for the transportation described.
- Extra charges (for example waiting time, unloading help, extra stops, or corrections to wrong freight details or addresses) apply only as shown in the Platform. You'll be asked to approve them — except charges caused by information you gave that turned out wrong, which you agree to pay. Example: you booked 4 pallets but the driver finds 7; the price is corrected to 7.
- Pay invoices by their due date with the method shown (card, or approved payment terms). Late amounts may incur interest of 1.5% per month (or the legal maximum, if lower) plus collection costs and attorneys' fees. ShippApp may pause bookings while anything is overdue.
- Raise any billing problem with ShippApp first (Section 8 of the Terms).
Expedited service
- If you choose Expedited, the pickup can be as soon as about 2 hours after your ready time (or after a carrier accepts the load, if later) — that is the earliest, not a promised pickup time. The carrier carries only your load and drives straight to your delivery.
- Arrival is an estimate, not a guarantee. We show it before you book and keep it updated from the driver's location. It includes the rest the driver is required by law to take on long trips (federal hours-of-service rules), and it can change with traffic, weather, road conditions or anything else on the way. We will never ask a driver to skip legally required rest.
- The expedite surcharge is shown before you book and is part of your price. It pays for priority, a dedicated truck and a straight run; it isn't refunded because of the arrival time.
5. Cancellations and missed pickups
If you cancel after a carrier accepts, or the freight isn't ready when the driver arrives, the cancellation or waiting charges shown in the Platform may apply.
6. Delivery, damage and claims
- Confirm delivery in the Platform, or it is confirmed automatically after the time shown.
- Report loss, damage or shortage in the app as soon as possible, with photos and the amount, within the window shown in the app, so evidence is fresh and the claim moves fastest. In any case, the legal deadline to file a written claim is 9 months after delivery (or after the date delivery should have happened).
- Who is responsible: the Carrier that hauls your freight is responsible for loss or damage while it's in the Carrier's care, as provided by law (including 49 U.S.C. 14706 where it applies) and its agreement with ShippApp, up to the actual value of the freight unless a lower value was agreed in writing. ShippApp helps handle the claim but is not the carrier; its own liability is limited as stated in the Terms.
7. Carriers stay on ShippApp
ShippApp finds, checks and manages the carriers and drivers who move your freight. While you use ShippApp and for 24 months after your last booking or other activity, you will not, directly or indirectly (including through an affiliate, another broker or another platform), hire, book, pay or arrange transportation with any carrier, owner-operator, driver or dispatcher you were introduced to or worked with through ShippApp, outside ShippApp — and you won't ask them to deal with you directly.
Example: a driver did a great job and you'd like them again. Book the load on ShippApp; don't call the carrier directly.
There is no buy-out. Section 7 of the Terms applies, including liquidated damages for each carrier involved of the greater of $5,000 or 35% of the gross freight charges paid to or for that carrier outside ShippApp during the restricted period, plus an injunction, attorneys' fees, costs and interest. Carriers you documented to ShippApp within 10 days of joining are excluded.
8. Confidentiality
Carrier identities, contacts, rates and documents you see on the Platform are confidential and may be used only for your ShippApp loads.
9. Paperwork and law
You are responsible for the accuracy of shipping documents you provide (such as bills of lading) and for following the laws that apply to your freight.
